✏️ WORKFLOW ✏️
Heya!
I have a bit of an unorthodox workflow, especially when it comes to sketching, so I thought it would be a good idea to show you what I'll send over as sketches and what the final image eventually looks like :)
I don't really sketch in the traditional sense. I don't do the whole sketching with pencil thing. I usually go straight to shape, color and mood.
Here's some examples!

as you can see I really don't worry about the finer details in the sketch phase. things like hands (which are pretty difficult to draw anyway) and other small things are not something I'm too concerned about at this stage.
everything looks really blocky, but that is something that gets fine tuned during the process.

colors are always subject to change, but you'll find that it's still pretty close to the original palette.
This type of working means that I'm really flexible in the sketching-phase, I can easily change everything that needs to be changed, lighting, composition, atmosphere, you name it.
here are some more examples:

as you can see the scenes pretty much stayed the same from sketch to finish, adding all the small details and lighting does bring it to life a lot more of course :)

BOOK COVERS
and here are a couple of examples of some book covers from sketch to final.

the composition pretty much stayed the same, but the colours and characters do look a lot better if I do say so myself :)

same here! I especially try to make sure everything is easily readable, I think there's quite a difference between the sketch and the final version. I also hand lettered this cover.
I hope this gives a good idea of my weird choppy sketches and the final result, so you won't be too shocked with the sketches I'm about to show you next :D
TEST CARDS
I did a couple of sketches as requested, so here we go!
there are notes under the images.
GASTON

don't worry about the final details just yet (things like hands etc), we'll figure that out as we go along.
I just drew girls since that's what happens in the movie, but we can easily switch out some girls for guys.

MOTHER GOTHEL

I don't really have any notes. It's pretty much what was in the brief :)
that's it for now! feel free to give me any feedback you may have!
